Notice of Review of Polling Districts and Polling Places for the West Lancashire Constituency

In accordance with Section 17 of the Electoral Registration and Administration Act 2013, West Lancashire Borough Council gives notice that it is conducting an Interim Review of Polling Districts and Polling Places within the West Lancashire Borough Area of the West Lancashire constituency – namely within Aughton & Holborn, Rural West, and Skelmersdale South Wards.

The consultation period for this review will commence on Friday 21 November 2025 and will conclude on Thursday 8 January 2026.

The (Acting) Returning Officer's schedule of proposals are available on the authority's website at https://westlancsintranet.moderngov.co.uk/documents/s49939/Polling%20Review%202025%20-%20Initial%20Report.pdf and also be available for inspection at the Council Offices, 52 Derby Street, Ormskirk, L39 2DF.

Electors within West Lancashire Borough Council’s area may make representations to the Council about the proposed arrangements. Where changes are suggested to proposed arrangements, then representations should, if possible, make alternative suggestions.

Local political parties and Councillors will be consulted, and views are invited from electors within the West Lancashire Borough Area. The Authority also welcomes any person or body with expertise in access for persons with any type of disability to make representations or to comment on the proposals or any other related matter.

Representations should be sent to Tom Lynan, Electoral Services Manager, either by email to tom.lynan@westlancs.gov.uk or in writing to the address below. Representations can also be made online via the Council's Engagement Hub at https://letstalkwestlancashire.uk.engagementhq.com/hub-page/polling-station-review-2025 . Representations are to arrive no later than Thursday 8 January 2026.

Following conclusion of the Review, final proposals will be presented to the Polling Review Committee for their consideration, and the outcome of the Review will then be published on the Council's website. Any agreed changes to Polling Districts and/or Polling Places as part of the Review will come into force from 1 March 2026.
