Business rates
The Business Rates (NNDR) Office is responsible for collecting
rates from local businesses on behalf of central government.
A contribution is paid into a central pool and money is
re-distributed to billing authorities and major precepting
authorities to help finance the provision of local services.
Billing and collection
We issue rate accounts every March. Accounts are
based on the rateable value shown in the current local rating list,
times a rate multiplier set by central government, subject to a
transitional relief scheme.
How to pay
Please look at the Pay a Bill page to find out how and where
you can pay. You can also set up a direct debit to pay your
rates.
Your method of payment is shown on your NNDR bill. If you wish
to change the way you pay contact the Business Rates Section on
01695 585036.
Business rates balance enquiry
Enter the nine digits of your business rates reference
