Employment and Support Allowance
Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) is a new benefit
administered by Job Centre Plus. It is a new way of
helping people with an illness or disability to move into work, if
they are able.
ESA replaces Incapacity Benefit and Income Support, paid
because of an illness or disability, for new claims from 27 October
2008.
