TV licence allowance scheme
The TV Licence allowance scheme is available to existing claimants
aged 60 or over. If you haven't made a successful claim in the last
three years unfortunately you will not qualify.
If you do qualify, you'll get a £30.50 refund, unless you bought
your licence for less than that amount, in part payment towards an
over 75s free TV licence. In this case the amount refunded will be
the actual amount paid.
Application criteria
You can apply for the TV licence allowance if you are an existing
claimant who:
· has made a successful claim within the last three years,
and
· is a private or council tenant or you own your own home,
and
· is aged over 60 years
