 The BIBAs 2013

Entry for the 2013 Lancashire BIBA awards is now open and looking to find the most successful and innovative companies in Lancashire. Hailed as the ‘the one they all want to win', the BIBAs recognise and honour the breadth of business achievement in Lancashire in all its variety.

 

Date: Friday 20 September

Venue: Blackpool Tower.

Recent business awards

Below are details of some recent awards that highlight the quality and competitiveness of the businesses in our borough:

 

The Guardian Social Enterprise Award 2013

Brighter Future Workshop (external link) have been awarded the Guardian Social Enterprise Award for their work in recycling mobility equipment and training local disadvantaged and disabled people.

 

The Avon and Women's Aid Empowering Women Awards 2012

This annual awards ceremony, held at Claridges Hotel in London and hosted by Sky Sports presenter Charlie Webster, recognises and honours the bravery and achievements of women survivors of domestic violence and those who work tirelessly to support women and children affected by abuse. Eleanor Maddocks from West Lancashire Women's Refuge was amongst the winners:

Lancashire Tourism Awards 2012/13

The winners of the Lancashire Tourism Awards 2012/13 were announced at the Guild Hall, Preston on the evening of Thursday 13th September 2012.  The evening was hosted by Wayne Hemingway MBE, to recognise the outstanding qualities and achievements of local tourism businesses and the contribution they make to our £3 billion visitor economy.

 

Three local tourism businesses in West Lancashire were amongst the 16 winners:

 

 

West Lancashire Challenge Apprentice Awards 2012

More than 100 people from the private, public and community sectors enjoyed breakfast at a special event aimed at bringing West Lancashire businesses together.  Guest speaker was Steven Broomhead, board member of the Lancashire Enterprise Partnership, who has long-established links to West Lancashire.

 

A key part of the event was the West Lancashire Challenge Apprenticeship Awards 2012 where the following awards were presented:

 

Large Apprenticeship Employer Award

  • Winner – SCA Hygiene Products Ltd
  • Highly commended – IKO PLC

SME Apprentice Employer Award

  • Winner – IT Managed Services Ltd
  • Highly commended – Marshall Abram Garage

Apprentice of the Year Award

  • Winner – Stevie Best, SCA Hygiene Products Ltd
  • Highly commended – Alexander Mafi, IT Managed Services Ltd
  • Highly commended – Dylan Clapcott, Marshall Abram Garage
