Start-Up Loans UK
Start-Up Loans UK is a government run initiative offering loans
to young entrepreneurs. This scheme is aimed at 18-30 year olds,
who are living in England and looking for finance to start a
business.
There are a number of organisations delivering this scheme
across the UK, and two local deliverers are listed below:
MSIF Start-Up Loans
Merseyside Special Investment Fund (MSIF)
(external link) is a local delivery partner for
Start-Up Loans UK, a government backed national initiative aimed at
ambitious 18-30 year olds who want to start up their own
business.

Lancashire Community Finance
Lancashire Community
Finance (external link) is also delivering the government’s
Start-Up Loans programme, providing business support, mentoring and
loans to young entrepreneurs. Anyone aged 18-30 with a
business idea in Lancashire and surrounding areas can apply for a

and a range of products to support your business venture,
whether it be business growth or asset purchase and
potentially can help you to secure vital 'match funding' for other

Banks have access to a range of services, including
Enterprise Finance Guarantee (external
link), bank funding may often appear costly, however there are
potential solutions to this issue. For example RBS are fully
signed up to the
Bank
of England/HM Treasury Funding for Lending scheme (external
link), which aims to address this issue.
Access to finance NW
Access to Finance NW (external link)
offer an impartial, independent and free service to eligible small
to medium size enterprises (some sector restrictions
apply). The service is individually tailored to meet the
needs of your company, helping to match your business with the
right finance. Businesses must meet the definition of a small
to medium enterprise, and be based in the North West of
England. Retail businesses are excluded from the support from
The North West Fund and the Access to Finance NW Service.
Sefton and West Lancashire Visitor Economy Project
Sefton Council and West Lancashire Borough Council have
successfully secured funding from the Local Sustainability
Transport Fund to deliver a visitor economy project across the two
councils, in partnership with West Lancashire CVS and Sefton
CVS. The area covers the Sefton coast from Waterloo to
Southport, and inland to incorporate western parts of West
Lancashire, including Ormskirk and Burscough.
The funding will concentrate on 5 key
elements:
- Leisure routes and facilities
- Improved facilities for walking and
cycling
- Developing and promoting the visitor
offer
- Southport Cycle Hire
- Southport eastern park and ride

Rosebud
Rosebud is a complete financial solution whether as a loan or
equity based investment. Support is available for businesses
whether they are setting up or expanding especially where
projections demonstrate ambition, growth and innovation.
The finance is available to those located, or thinking of
relocating, to Lancashire County Council administrative areas.
