Skelmersdale Ambassadors Network

UCLan Innovation Clinic Workshop

The UCLan Innovation Clinic is running a free two day workshop for small-to-medium sized businesses to show how the independent scientific support they offer can enhance your business product. This event is primarily for companies developing products that will physically impact users.

The workshop will take place at The Fell Bike Superstore, Unit 5 Deanfield Drive, Clitheroe, BB7 1QJ on Tuesday 28 February and Tuesday 7 March 2017.

Lean Launchpad

The Lean Launchpad is part of the Growth Support Programme, a fully funded programme delivered by Winning Pitch and Enterprise4all.

The 2-day programme of support has been designed to equip your business with the tools, knowledge and techniques not only to launch a successful enterprise but also to accelerate your growth.

Lean Launchpad, Day 1: Lean Start Up

Day 1 has been created to establish the motivation and ambition of you as an entrepreneur and to provide you with the proven lean tools and techniques to help you assess your position in the market place and develop your strategy for growth.

Day 1 will take place at West Lancashire Investment Centre, Skelmersdale WN8 9TG on Wednesday 8 March 2017, 9.00am-3.30pm.

Lean Launchpad, Day 2: Scaling for Growth

Day 2 is designed to provide you with the knowledge and tools to scale your new business rapidly and the essential building blocks needed to scale including support from Access to Finance specialists.

Day 2 will take place at West Lancashire Investment Centre, Skelmersdale WN8 9TG on Wednesday 15 March 2017, 9.00am-3.30pm.

To be eligible you must:

  • Operate or will operate business-to-business
  • Be based or live in Lancashire
  • Be a pre-start or business under 3 years old

The Red Rose Awards 2017

The Red Rose Awards 2017 is now open for entries and will take place on Thursday 9 March 2017. The annual awards celebrate excellence across a wide range of sectors and provide an opportunity to shine a spotlight on your organisation.

The ceremony will be held at Empress Ballroom at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens on Thursday 9 March 2017.

OWL Business Focus

OWL (Ormskirk and West Lancashire) Business Focus is a group of business people who live, work or trade in the Ormskirk or West Lancashire area. It is a member-led organisation which enables connections to be made between individual members, their organisations, other business groups and the wider community.

The group meet regularly to provide members with the opportunity to network with other businesses, hear project updates from the group and guest speakers, and to find out more about our training programmes and social events.
