Skelmersdale Ambassadors Network Lauch
West Lancashire Borough Council together with influencing organisations and business leaders from Skelmersdale has developed an exciting place strategy, designed to put Skelmersdale firmly on the map as a place to do business.
This is the first of an exciting programme of events for the Skelmersdale Ambassadors Network which will provide you with the opportunity to make business connections; raise your organisation’s profile and hear from influential guest speakers.
As well as this you will have the opportunity to enjoy a coffee and light refreshments, network and meet with the Skelmersdale Place Board members.
The event will take place on Wednesday 23 November 2016, 7.45am-9.30am at Best Western Lancashire Manor Hotel, Skelmersdale.

Lancashire Tourism Awards 2016
The Lancashire Tourism Awards are taking place on Thursday 10 November with awards being delivered across 19 different categories. These annual awards celebrate excellence across a wide range of visitor economy businesses, revealing the brightest and best stars working in Lancashire tourism today, with many of the county’s winners then going on to represent Lancashire at the national Visit England Excellence Awards. The awards are an opportunity to shine a spotlight on your organisation and a number of West Lancashire businesses have achieved success in recent years.
This year’s ceremony will be held at Blackburn Cathedral on Thursday 10 November.

UCLan Innovation Clinic Biomechanics Workshops
The UCLan Innovation Clinic is running a free half-day workshop for small-to-medium sized businesses to show how the independent scientific support they offer can enhance your business product. This event is primarily for companies developing products that will physically impact users.
The workshop will take place at UCLan Brook Building, Preston on Tuesday 22 November, 12.30pm and Wednesday 23 November, 9.00am.

UK Northern Powerhouse Awards 2017
The UK Northern Powerhouse Awards 2017 will highlight collaboration between and within businesses in the Northern Powerhouse geographical area and is an opportunity to shine a spotlight on your organisation. The awards are now open and are free to enter with 16 different categories to choose from.
The awards winners will be announced at the Conference Dinner in Manchester on the evening of the Tuesday 21 February 2017.

OWL (Ormskirk and West Lancs Business Focus)
OWL Business Focus is a group of business people who live, work or trade in the Ormskirk or West Lancashire area. It is a member-led organisation which enables connections to be made between individual members, their organisations, other business groups and the wider community.

Membership of the North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce is open to any business, irrespective of size. The Chamber of Commerce is an important part of the regional business community due to its strong membership base and the range of services it offers.

North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce needs your expertise
Four committees will be set up to ensure the views of Lancashire's businesses help to shape the policy agenda for Lancashire. The North and Western Lancashire Chamber are focusing on four areas of activity, the economy, access to finance, transport and infrastructure and skills. The Chamber are looking for a balance of specialists and "lay" members in each subject area who are willing to come together as a group to help develop the policy agenda. This would be done by commissioning research, publishing reports, acting as the authoritative voice of the Chamber, and calling to account decision-makers (MPs, local authorities, other public bodies) in the manner of a Select Committee hearing.
