Seasonal/Migrant Workers
Over
a thousand seasonal workers come from overseas to work on
agricultural land, mainly in the northern parishes, throughout the
growing season.
We have produced a Welcome Pack specifically designed to help
workers from overseas, here for short periods of time, to help them
access services.
It's packed with useful information to let them know what services
are available and how to access them, like:
· how to get refuse collected
· how to report a crime
· how to get a nursery place for a child
· how to get advice about health
· rural, leisure and social activities
The Welcome Pack
If you employ seasonal/migrant workers - or you are a seasonal or
migrant worker in West Lancashire - you can get Welcome Packs free
of charge. It is available in English, Portuguese, Polish and
available in other languages on request. A basic pack is available
online, and a full pack - which includes information from the
Police and NHS - can by ordered.
The Welcome Pack is currently being updated and the new version
will be launched during 2008.

Feedback
There's also an evaluation form included in the Pack to gather
feedback and to ensure that the workers find it useful. If the
workers feel that anything is missing then we will use this
information and include it in future editions.
