The Co-Operative Bank

The Co-Operative Bank
From the heart of Skelmersdale town centre, a major financial institution is only a phone call away from its thousands of personal banking customers.

The Co-operative Bank is the only UK bank based in the North West of England. It has over 100 branches throughout the UK and employs over 3,700 people. The Co-operative Bank has led the way in personal telephone banking and today employs over 700 people in their telephone banking operation at Delf House, in Skelmersdale town centre. Delf House is the biggest call centre in the whole of the UK - handling over 11 million calls every year - supporting customers 365 days a year.

Mick Firth, Executive Director of Personal Banking, explained: "People may not realise that with its links to Merseyside, West Lancashire is developing into a centre for state-of-the-art communications technology. The Bank is a major technology partner in the area and we are supported by a workforce with the skills, flexibility and focus to get to grips with the latest that technology can offer."
