Animal Welfare licence requirements
Premises including pet shops, kennels, catteries, riding
establishments, dog breeding premises and zoos all require a
licence to trade.
These licences dictate animal welfare standards at the premises to
ensure the operation is carried out in an appropriate manner.
Premises are licensed annually and must comply with set licence
conditions that are applicable to the specific premises. Other
licensable premises may also require the expert knowledge of a
veterinary inspector, who undertakes the inspection with the
Council Officer.
