Guidance
The Council previously passed a resolution that it would not
permit gaming machines in premises such as take away food shops,
minicab and taxi offices or other non-arcade unlicensed premises.
With effect from the 1 August 2006, the Gambling Act 2005 will
begin to phase out fruit machines from these premises across the
Country. All such permits will expire on 31 July 2009 and it will
be illegal to offer fruit machines in such premises after this
date.
Please note that this does not apply to pubs, clubs and other
alcohol licensed premises or amusement arcades.
Gaming in Licensed Premises
The Gambling Act 2005 will effect the games operated in existing
premises which are licensed under the Licensing Act 2003.
