West Lancashire Borough Council, acting as Licensing Authority
under the Gambling Act 2005, must publish a Statement of Policy
about how it will administer its responsibilities under the
Act.
The current version of
the Policy was approved at a meeting of the Licensing and
Gambling Committee on 4 December 2012 and Cabinet on 15 January
2013, following a period of public consultation that took
place between 12 September 2012 and 3 December 2012. The
consultation followed the Revised Code of Practice for public
consultations, which came into effect in April 2004, and the
Cabinet Office Guidance on consultations by the public sector.
The Policy was published on 16 January
2013 and came into force on 31 January 2013. The Policy will remain
in effect for 3 years and will be reviewed in January 2016.
