Will tacit consent apply?
Yes, tacit Consent will apply.
This means that you will be able to act as though your application
is granted if you have not heard from the Council by the end of the
target period.
If the applicant has any relevant convictions, the Licensing
Unit will notify the police of the application, who may formerly
object within 14 days. If an objection is received from the
police, a hearing will be arranged to determine the
application.
If there are no objections and the applicant fulfils the criteria,
the licence will be granted.

administers, and to this end may use the information provided on
Personal Licence application forms for the prevention and detection
of fraud. It may also share this information with other bodies
responsible for auditing or administering public funds for these

Data Protection
As part of the application process, all applicants are
required to provide details of all convictions, cautions and fines
that may have accrued over time. The Council will handle such data
in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998, the principles
laid down by the Information Commissioner's Office and the
Council's Data Retention and Disposal Schedule.
The data is used as part of the statutory application process to
determine whether applicants
are suitable to hold the respective licence. This process may
include the information being presented to the Council's Licensing
and Gambling Committee for determination. For the purposes of the
Data Protection Act, the Council is the Data Controller and the
