West Lancashire District Council

Quotations and tenders process

Quotations and tenders process
The Council has procedures in place that requires it to invite quotations and tenders. Potential suppliers are either invited as a result of short-listing procedures or may be invited under open arrangements. Offers are assessed using tender assessment criteria.

Contracts that have a value of over £30,000 have to go through the Council's formal tendering process, which involves tenders being returned in specific envelopes, which are then opened formally by Council members.

A more informal quotation system applies to contracts under the value of £30,000.

Furthermore, tenders for goods and services above an estimated value of £139,893 and for works above an estimated value of £3,497,313 will be advertised in the Official Journal of the European Union (external link). See the How to find out about tenders page for more information.
