Celebrating Lancashire's great local
produce
Taste Lancashire 08 (external
link) is a year of food and drink to celebrate
Lancashire's great local produce, in partnership with Liverpool's
2008 European Capital of Culture celebrations. It's a year of
events and promotions championing accredited eateries, local
producers, farmers' markets, young chefs and fine local food and
drink.
To get involved and become a partner your business/organisation
should be either award-winning, have a recognised accreditation or
is committed to supplying quality Lancashire produce, as
follows:
- Eateries - should be Taste Lancashire accredited or have a
Michelin or AA Rosette award
- Pubs - CAMRA recognised
- Producers - members of either Made in Lancashire or North West
Fine Food and making Lancashire produce
- Retailers - serving quality Lancashire produce
- Others - includes Lancashire's local authorities
Taste Lancashire Quality Assured
Lancashire and Blackpool Tourist Board has teamed up with
Made In Lancashire (external
link) and Quality in Tourism (external
link) to produce a new quality award scheme for eating
establishments. The partnership recognises the importance of the
food and drink industry to Lancashire, and has developed this
scheme to give acknowledgement to those establishments who provide
a consistently high quality eating experience.
Eating establishments can gain either of two awards:
- Highest Quality Assured Award - given to eateries achieving
over 80% in their assessment.
- Quality Assured Award - given to eateries achieving 60-80% in
their assessment
