Refusals, appeals and complaints
It is important that the website, our publication scheme, meets
your needs. We welcome suggestions for additional classes of
information that could be included. We also welcome suggestions as
to how the publications themselves might be improved. If you have a

Refusal notices
If we decide to withhold all or part of the information that has
been asked for, we will send a letter that explains which exemption
is being used and the reason why the information is being
withheld.
If you are not satisfied with the reason why the information has
been withheld, you can appeal. You can also appeal if you think the
charges for the information are unfair. Call 01695 585031, email

Complaints
If you are not satisfied with the way that we have handled your
request for information under the Freedom of Information Act or
Data Protection Act, you should complain to us directly using the
council's complaints procedure. We will aim to respond to
your request within 10 working days. If you are still unhappy, you
can write to the Chief Executive who will investigate and aim to
respond within 10 working days.
