Be a Beacon Friend
If you want to help manage and enhance West Lancashire’s award
winning Beacon Country Park then why not become a ‘friend’.
West Lancashire District Council’s Countryside Ranger Service
are setting up a ‘Friends of Beacon Country Park’ group and are
looking for interested people to join it.
This new venture will enable the public to take an active role
in assisting the Council to manage and develop this flagship
park.
To establish the new group, the rangers are holding a meeting on
Wednesday 30th April, starting 7pm at the golf centre at Beacon
Country Park, Beacon Lane, Up Holland. They are urging anyone who
is interested to come along.
Dave Tilleray, Executive Manager for Community Services,
said:"Anyone who has a few hours to spare and is interested in the
park’s future management and development should come along to this
meeting to find out more. It’s a great opportunity for anyone who
has a genuine love of the countryside and enjoys practical work
outdoors. There are lots of exciting plans for Beacon Country Park
and this is a perfect way for the local community to get involved
too."
