Spring tidy for Coronation Park
Do you want to give something back to the Ormskirk community?
Then why not make some noise about it and join youth workers for a
special litter pick.
To celebrate The Noise - a national event run by churches and
parishes throughout the UK to work on projects that will benefit
the local neighbourhood - an environmental event has been organised
for 3rd May.
Organised by youth workers from Christ Church in Aughton, they
will spend the day at church fields at the back of Coronation Park
to give it a spring tidy.
The event is being run in partnership with the Friends of
Coronation Park and supported by West Lancashire District
Council.
Volunteers who want to help out on the day are being asked to
meet at 12pm at the bandstand in Coronation Park, Ormskirk, and
must wear suitable clothes, boots and gloves.
Dave Tilleray, Executive Manager for Community Services,
said:"I’d urge people to get involved in this local event which
will benefit the area and will encourage people to give something
back to their communities. It’s part of a national network of
activities called The Noise and I applaud the churches and parishes
for ensuring that West Lancashire gets a piece of the action as it
complements the good work that the Council already does to keep the
district clean and tidy."
To get involved, please contact the Council’s Urban Park Ranger
Chris Horsfall on 07824 625321.
