Calendar of events launched to help women excel in
business!
Ladies...to reach the top of your career why not sign up to the
Women Excelling in Business network - which has just launched its
exciting 2008 programme.
West Lancashire District Council has unveiled an inspiring calendar
of events
for members of the networking group so that they can make new
contacts and pick up useful techniques to help them stay one step
ahead in their field of business.
Kicking off the timetable is 'Speed Networking' on Thursday 6th
March and it will be held in the picturesque surroundings of the
charity Midstream's Garden Centre in Skelmersdale, from 12noon to
2pm.
Local entrepreneur Dawn Kirkham, who runs a small business called
'Inner Wisdom', will also be officially launching some brand new
services at the event too and those who come along will get to take
part in various activities.
Throughout the rest of the year, the diverse monthly programme will
cover everything from marketing on a shoestring and personal
development to dressing to impress!
Cllr Ian Grant, Portfolio Holder for Regeneration and Planning,
said: "This year we have put together an impressive programme of
events that will provide an opportunity for like-minded business
focussed women from a broad range of sectors to share knowledge,
ideas and experiences within a positive environment. The calendar
has lots of variety and uses a range of venues to keep everything
interesting for both existing and new members."
At the moment, the network boasts more than 60 members and is
attracting sponsorship of events from a range of businesses across
the district.
Patron of WEB Gail Stanley added: "The group really is growing from
strength to strength and in the New Year we had a number of women
sign up to become new members, which is great. I'm sure that as the
network becomes even more popular, the benefits in the female
sector of business will flourish too."
There are a number of membership opportunities available, which
will help women engage with a vast range of organisations and help
them to prosper and grow within the competitive world of
work.
Anyone who would like to become a member of Women Excelling in
Business and would like to attend this event can contact Clare
Joynson, Investment Centre Manager, on 01695 712600.
