West Lancs Visitor Guide hits the streets
West Lancashire is more than just a nature lover's dream destination. So to discover what we have to offer, pick up West Lancashire Visitor Guide 2008.

This year's handy tourist booklet lists the vast array of attractions across the district and is a great way to unearth its abundance of hidden gems.

More than just stretches of lush green countryside, West Lancashire is a diverse mixture of historical towns and villages, a wildlife and wetland wonderland with lots of sport and leisure opportunities but with plenty to do for the family as well as the younger student generation.

New in the publication for 2008 includes a brand new restaurant guide because there are so many eating establishments to choose from. This complements the pubs and inns listings and an extensive events calendar.

Popular attractions featured include; The Wildlife Trust's Mere Sands Wood, The Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust Martin Mere, Farmer Ted's Farm Park, Windmill Animal Farm, The West Lancashire Light Railway, Scarisbrick Hall, The National Trust's Rufford Old Hall, Beacon Country Park, The Chapel Gallery, the Ribble Coast and Wetlands and many more.

There's also a great tourist map inside too so there's no excuse not to be able to find your way around the district!

Cllr Ian Grant, Portfolio Holder for Regeneration and Planning, said:"West Lancashire attracts millions of visitors each year who come to enjoy everything from its peaceful tranquillity to its bustling market towns, lively night time economy, coastal contrasts or watery features. So whether you want to have fun with the family, find out about places to visit, where to stay, dining out, shopping, markets and various events, pick up a guide today."

The guide is available at Council buildings, County Information Centres, or can be downloaded from the website. For those who can't print copies, it can be ordered by filling in the online order form available.
