Calling all musicians! Want to play in the
park?
Are you looking for a venue to perform with your band, group or as
a solo artist? If so, West Lancashire District Council may just
have the answer for you.
The Council is planning a series of spring and summer concerts at
the bandstand in Coronation Park, Ormskirk. Although the Council
has a strong database of established entertainment acts we are
always on the look out for new talent.
So if you're in a band or you are a solo artist looking for
somewhere to play to family audiences, now's your chance. All you
have to do is send in a sample of your music in tape, CD or mp3
formats, along with your contact details, we'll have a listen and
then get back to you.
So whether you're an experienced performer or just looking to
perform for the first time, why not get in touch?
Send your music by return post to Chris Horsfall, Leisure, Culture
and Arts, West Lancashire Council, 52 Derby Street, Ormskirk L39
2DF, with a name and contact number.
You can email Chris at chris.horsfall@westlancsdc.gov.uk
for more information.
Councillor Robert Bailey, portfolio holder for Leisure, said: "The
bandstand in Coronation Park is a wonderful venue for performers
and we would love to hear from musicians, no matter what their
style of music, who would like to play there."
"For anyone, solo, group or band, who could play for an hour or two
on a Saturday afternoon, this is an exciting opportunity. The
concerts will run weekly from May to September so the more people
we hear from, the better."
