Danish firm to create jobs
Danish dignitaries joined West Lancashire District Council to
celebrate the opening of new premises that are set to create more
jobs in the area.
Danish Ambassador Friis Arne Petersen was in Burscough to
officially unveil Dantech’s brand new building.
Council officials, including Chairman Cyril Ainscough and his
Lady Maureen, were also invited to join the party because they have
offered the company financial assistance through the West
Lancashire Inspire project to help with the move to larger,
purpose-built premises.
Cllr Adrian Owens, Portfolio Holder for Regeneration, said: "It
was a real feather in our cap to have so many dignitaries visiting
West Lancashire to celebrate how this small business has really
progressed. By offering to help with their expansion we know it
will certainly boost the local economy and create additional jobs.
I wish Dantech every success for the future and look forward to
watching them progress."
Dantech, which now operates from a bigger unit on Merlin Park,
Burscough, is a Danish food processing company that develops,
supplies and installs a range of innovative food production
technology. They particularly specialise in the development of
industrial microwave systems.
The company made use of the Council’s Inspire Grant scheme when
they were planning their move to ensure that their new premises are
to the highest standards. The grant offer has helped them to create
high-tech training and test facilities in the new premises.
The Inspire Project has offered grants to improve business
premises and security for over five years. However, the grant
scheme has been so successful at supporting local businesses that
all the funding has now been committed to improvement projects and
the scheme has closed to new applications.
However, the Council has a number of other non-grant ventures to
offer local businesses support and advice.
