Get involved in Greenhill Community Resource
Centre
Residents have a great opportunity to get involved in the
District Council’s popular Greenhill Community Resource Centre.
Locals are being encouraged to attend a General Meeting at the
West Skelmersdale Greenhill Community Centre, Beech Close,
Skelmersdale on 7 July, starting 7pm.
The event is to adopt a new Constitution and to elect a
Voluntary Management Committee who will operate the centre on a
day-to-day basis with the support of District Council Officers.
The Committee will look to organise activities and events which
meet with the needs of the local community.
Cllr Geoff Hammond, Portfolio Holder for Community Services,
said: "The Greenhill is a fantastic facility that is there for all
ages to enjoy and we want to encourage members of the community to
get involved and help operate and manage the facility. By becoming
a committee member you can be the voice of the community.
If you have a couple of hours to spare a month and want to help
shape new activities for your community, then why not come along
and put your name forward for the committee. Support will be
provided and training available."
The new Constitution is available from the Community Resource
Centre, and on the District Council’s website.

Leisure Officer, Paula Campbell on 01695 585144.
