Team cleans up to the delight of residents
A team of grime busters has earned glowing praise for the work they
have been doing sprucing up communal areas in the district's
apartment blocks.
The team of two, kitted out with a steam cleaner and floor-buffing
machine, has been busy recently in Skelmersdale, where residents of
Carfield flats have been impressed with their work.
One resident, who went out and chatted to the team, said: "They
were not the usual caretakers but had a scrubbing machine with
them. The men were polite and extremely efficient and it looks we
have had new floors laid.
"The operation was a huge success, not only does the block look
cleaner but it smells so much fresher.
"I have spoken with my neighbours and we are really pleased with
the results so form all of us a great big thank you to the
caretakers concerned."
The In Depth Cleaning Team (IDCT) started work just after the New
Year using a steam cleaner, a floor buffer, an industrial vacuum
cleaner and good old-fashioned elbow grease.
Over the coming months the team will visit all apartment blocks in
the district to improve standards for all residents.
Councillor Val Hopley, Portfolio Holder for Housing, said: "The
team's results have been impressive and the feedback we are getting
from residents confirms that.
"Their comments have been positive and the team will be aiming to
make sure that all their customers are just as happy."
