No police action following election nomination
allegations
Police will not be taking any action following allegations of
nomination form inaccuracies at the local elections in West
Lancashire.
After investigating complaints relating to the nomination
process for the district elections on 1 May, Lancashire
Constabulary have decided not to take the matter any further.
In the Moorside and Derby wards,
Conservative and Labour nominations respectively were not in
accordance with Electoral Commission guidance.
It was the view of the Constabulary
that no further action should be taken as undertakings were given
on behalf of both parties to improve practice and procedure.
