See the planets at Coronation Park
Reach for the stars by coming along to an astronomy event at
Ormskirk’s popular Coronation Park.
On Saturday 10th May, Liverpool Astronomical Society will be
giving a demonstration about the wonders of the night sky from
8.30pm to 10.30pm.
If it’s a clear evening and the weather is nice, spectators may
also be able to glimpse some of the planets through the powerful
telescopes they will be bringing with them.
Friends of Coronation Park will also be holding their monthly
meeting on the same evening, between 7pm and 8pm and everybody is
welcome to come along.
Dave Tilleray, Executive Manager for Community Services,
said: "Anybody who is interested in astronomy should come
along to this event as it promises to be a real eye-opener. And if
you want to get more involved in park life, then why not come along
to the Friends of Coronation Park meeting beforehand!"
To get involved, please contact the Council’s Urban Park Ranger
Chris Horsfall on 07824 625321.
