Ormskirk offers 'good will' to all shoppers
'Tis the season to be jolly and, with extra markets and cracking
deals on December parking, Ormskirk is offering festive shoppers a
lot to smile about this Christmas.
In addition to the normal Thursday and Saturday markets, the town
centre will be hosting extra markets on Wednesday 12, Monday 17 and
Wednesday 19 December. Giving shoppers plenty of opportunities to
grab their Christmas bargains.
From Monday 12 December until Christmas Eve you will also be able
to save whilst you shop. Visitors who buy a pay and display ticket
in one of the Council's designated car parks in Ormskirk, will
receive one hour's parking free of charge on top of the parking
period they pay for. This special offer applies to all pay and
display car parks with the exception of Two Saints Retail Park and
Derby Street.
Cllr David Westley, Portfolio Holder for Street Scene, said:
"Offering extra markets and Christmas parking deals is a fantastic
way to encourage even more visitors to Ormskirk town centre over
the festive period. I look forward to seeing the streets of
Ormskirk bustling with seasonal shoppers."
Motorists should be aware that the extra free hour will not be
shown on the pay and display parking ticket purchased from the
machine on the car parks. For example, if you buy a ticket at 10am
for one hour's parking the ticket will show an expiry time of 11am.
But, during the special offer period, you will be able to park
until 12noon. Notices explaining the offer will be on display at
the car parks and all car park attendants will allow for the extra
hour.
