‘Find Your Way’ event for businesses affected by credit
crunch
Businesses who want a helping hand to guide them through
the credit crunch maze are being urged to come along to a special
event.
‘Find Your Way’ is a free event at the West Lancashire
Investment Centre, White Moss Business Park, Skelmersdale on
Tuesday 14 July, from 4pm to 8pm. It has been created to give West
Lancashire businesses practical help and advice that will support
them through the current economic downturn.
It has been organised by West Lancashire Borough Council,
Lancashire County Council and Business Link North West, who have
joined forces with over 15 partners including ACAS, Edgehill
University, Jobcentre Plus, Business Venture Group and Chamber of
Commerce North & Western Lancashire.
During the event there will be informative workshops on
marketing and finance, , icebreaking sessions on grant funding,
loans, and training plus business surgeries to give an overview of
what is avaibable in the area. There will even be a ‘diary room’ to
feedback any comments on video.
The idea behind it is to provide as many answers as
possible about business concerns under the one roof. With experts
in a number of fields giving advice, entrepreneurs will be sure to
come away feeling more positive and equiped to deal with the
recession.
Cllr Adrian Owens, Portfolio Holder for Regeneration and
Estates, said: "We know that many businesses are feeling the
effects of the recession and are worried about the future. These
are difficult times and difficult decisions need to be taken to see
businesses through the credit crunch. Therefore, we have joined
forces with partners and experts to provide practical help and
advice to support companies through the economic downturn. I’d urge
people to come along to ensure that your business doesn’t buckle
under such financial pressures."
Lancashire County Council Councillor Tim Ashton, Cabinet
Member responsible for Economic Development, added: "We are pleased
to be working with our parners in providing West Lancashire
businesses with support and advice. This is the third ‘Find Your
Way’ event that Lancashire County council has organised in
partnership with district authorities and they have proved
invaluable to local businesses seeking advice on how to get through
these difficult times."
Carl Hopkins, star of Chanel 4’s Secret Millionaire, will
be there to provide businesses with invaluable and individual
marketing advice to ensure that they have everything in place to
survive the recession.
The finance workshop will show participants how to manage
their finances to reduce their stress levels during the credit
crunch, enabling them to refocus on running their
business.
Business surgeries will also be running through the day,
which will be on a one to one basis with an adviser on specific
topics. This is in addition to the Business Pitch sessions, where
people can discuss their new business ideas with the specialist
panel.
