May is marvellous for the great
outdoors
Make May the month to discover the wonders of nature and
join one of our free outdoor events.
May’s programme is packed with fun and informative
activities organised by West Lancashire District Council for people
of all ages to enjoy our greenery.
There’s everything from learning about edible plants,
walks in the woods, finding out about mini-beasts and moths and how
to make your own kite in time for next month’s popular Kite and
Outdoor Sports Festival. Star Wars fans will be able to re-live
tales of intergalactic battles between good and evil at a special
event in Coronation Park and also, for the second year running, the
park will also play host to the popular Best of Ormskirk
Day.
Dave Tilleray, Executive Manager for Community Services,
said: "Whether you’re a Star Wars fan, want to find out about
nature or just enjoy our great countryside and parks there is an
event to suit you. All activities are free so make May the month to
join us for some fun."
Events are free to join but it’s a good idea to book in
advance, as places are limited. For more information or to book
