Support first ever ‘National Family Week’
initiative
Celebrate the first ever ‘National Family Week’ and spend
quality time together with your loved ones.
This brand new initiative, which runs from 25 to 31 May,
is being launched across the country and has one simple aim - to
bring families together!
The national occasion will encourage families to play,
learn, eat, compete, and generally spend quality time
together.
Embracing this new campaign, West Lancashire Community
Leisure Trust has organised extra family fun swim sessions at Park
Pool in Ormskirk and Nye Bevan in Skelmersdale.
To help keep costs down there is a special price family
ticket of £5 (based on four). Under three’s swim free and don’t
forget to bring the grandparents along as the 60’s and over also
swim for free too!
Bill Lloyd, Chairman of the West Lancashire Community
Leisure Trust, said: "Family is something we all have in common,
whatever its shape, size or structure and it’s important that we
find time to get together. We’re delighted to be supporting this
initiative and would encourage families to celebrate and get
healthy at the same time."
Even if you decide not to take up the Trust’s generous
swimming offer there are plenty of other things you can do as a
family to promote togetherness, such as a visit to Chapel Gallery
to view the latest exhibitions or take part in the family friendly
programme of activities. If you enjoy the outdoors, why not
organise a family stroll at one of the Council’s beautiful
countryside sites or have a picnic in one of the pretty
parks.
Dave Tilleray, Executive Manager for Community Services,
added: "This national initiative has numerous sponsors and the
backing of local councils, schools, community groups, government
bodies, charities, sports clubs, celebrities and even the Prime
Minister. The only thing missing is your family so make sure you
join in the celebrations. Whatever you decide to do, make sure you
spend quality time with your family."
