Enough space for sport?
Are you concerned about the amount of open
space left for sport and recreation when new housing developments
are built? If so, West Lancs District Council wants to hear from
you.
Residents are invited to give their views on
an important new planning document that will provide guidance to
developers on the provision for open space within new residential
developments.
The ‘Open Space and Recreational
Provision within New Residential Developments’ Supplementary
Planning Document’ (SPD) forms part of the West Lancashire Local
Development Framework that will guide future developments in our
area.
Councillor Martin Forshaw, portfolio holder
for planning, said: “The Council believes it is very important to
ensure that, when new houses are built, sufficient open space is
provided for sport and recreation. We are asking people to give
their views on this. I know that some people have concerns and this
is your opportunity to let us know what you think and help shape
future policy.”
Consultation on this document runs from
Thursday 2 October for 6 weeks until 5pm on 12 November.
