How performance is managed

How performance is managed

We manage our performance through the use of performance indicators (PIs) and by ensuring we complete those tasks we have committed to, within the given timeframe.

The PIs in the Corporate Performance Plan (CPP) are a mixture of those nationally prescribed and those developed locally. All indicators in the CPP are fed into the Divisional Service Action Plans along with other strategic goals.

Indicators within the CPP are supplemented by other operational and management indicators/measures which are monitored regularly by Divisional Managers, Portfolio Holders and within the individual service areas.

Evaluation processes
The council's Policy and Performance Unit provide the first level of independent monitoring via an evaluation process which examines data and information provided.

We have a suite of performance indicators, reflecting our key corporate priorities which are monitored/reported quarterly by our Operational Management Board, Cabinet and Internal Overview and Scrutiny Committee.
