In 2021 and 2023, 42 new electric vehicle charge points have been installed in Council owned car parks in Ormskirk and Skelmersdale.  They are funded by grants from the On-Street Residential Charge Point Scheme delivered by the Office of Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) and by the provider BP Pulse. The charge points aim to provide convenient and efficient charging for residents without off-street parking and visitors.

The charge points have been installed to help residents in West Lancashire make the switch from internal combustion vehicles to electric vehicles. As more residents use electric vehicles, communities will benefit from improved air quality and lower their carbon footprint.
