Intruder alarm registration

We recommend that you register your intruder alarm with the Police and also with the Council so that someone can be contacted in case of a burglary or nuisance alarm. Alarms, which have a 20 minute cut-out device fitted, can cause problems if there is a control panel fault or if the system repeatedly trips to alarm condition.

Why register your alarm?

Registering your alarm helps either the Police or the council to alert a contact number provided by yourself, so that the alarm can be attended to as quickly as possible.

A continually sounding alarm, which causes disturbance to occupiers of neighbouring property, can be dealt with under the Clean Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005. In cases where reasonable cause for annoyance is likely, the audible alarm may be disconnected following complaint and the costs recharged.
