Public Health deals with complaints concerning drainage issues
and refuse and it is estimated that the section will investigate
almost two hundred complaints about these issues this year. In
addition we also deal with complaints concerning properties which
may be filthy or verminous as well as exhumations of the deceased
should they be necessary.
Public health funerals
The Council has a responsibility to make arrangements for public
health funerals where no other person makes suitable arrangements.
No such arrangements have taken place since 1 April 2012.
