Homelessness Strategy 2017 - 2022

The Homelessness Strategy 2017-2022 provides information about the level of homelessness in West Lancashire and the main reasons people become homeless.

The homelessness review found that despite homelessness presentations nationally increasing, in West Lancashire, the number has been in decline since 2011. The use of temporary accommodation is also low compared to national figures, with only 10 households being placed in 2015/16.

The key objectives of the strategy are to:

  • enhance the depth and range of housing advice services to meet current and future challenges
  • enhance the housing offer available to all homeless applicants in the borough
  • improve health and wellbeing
