Homelessness Strategy 2017 - 2022
We are consulting on a draft Homelessness Strategy for the borough and want to know your views on it. The draft strategy provides an updated picture of homelessness in the borough and outlines the key objectives that will be addressed.
The homelessness review found that despite homelessness presentations nationally increasing, in West Lancashire, the number has been in decline since 2011. The use of temporary accommodation is also low compared to national figures, with only 10 households being placed in 2015/16.
The key objectives of the strategy are to:
- enhance the depth and range of housing advice services to meet current and future challenges
- enhance the housing offer available to all homeless applicants in the borough
- improve health and wellbeing
Comments can be sent by email to email@example.com or by post to the Homelessness Advice & Prevention Team, 61 Westgate, Skelmersdale, WN8 8LP.
The consultation opened on 20 March 2017 and will close on 1 May 2017.
