The Green Fayre is a celebration of the countryside and countryside living and attracts thousands of visitors each year.
Where and when?
Unfortunately the Green Fayre for 2016 had to be cancelled due to persistent rain and poor ground conditions. However this popular event will be back for 2017 - on 22 and 23 July - so get the date in your diary now for what promises to be a fantastic day out for all the family.
Working woodlands and craft demonstrations
The heart of the Green Fayre belongs with its craft and working woodlands displays. There are a variety of different exhibitors and traders showcasing a wide range of traditional crafts and techniques, working natural materials into products and goods that we use in day-to-day life.
There are a wide range of animal displays at the show - falconry and dog shows in the arena, owl and birds of prey displays, and even a petting farm allowing you close up experiences of a range of animals. The show is also attended by a range of wildlife and animal welfare charities and organisations.
Living history displays
A big part of our show is the Viking encampment that overlooks Skelmersdale. Visit their tented village and find out more about how day-to-day Viking life used to be, then watch as they battle in the show's arena.
There is a wide-variety of entertainment for all members of the family to enjoy during the show. The folk marquee provides a range of traditional and contemporary folk music providing an excellent backdrop to the show. There is also a range of children's activities including bouncy castles, trampolines and a climbing wall for our younger visitors.
Food and drink
Something to tickle everyone's taste buds with gourmet burgers, hot dogs, hog roast, specialist vegetarian/vegan cuisine and fajitas. Along with a variety of stalls selling pies, cakes, preserves and sweet treats.
