Abbey Lakes, Up Holland

A wide variety of ducks, geese, swans, and other wetland birds congregate on the lake, making it the ideal place to introduce your children to the joy of feeding ducks.

The lake was formerly a supply lake for a local abbey and the site has a fascinating history, more information on this is available from the Park Ranger service.

Abbey Lakes is now a popular local coarse angling facility. Angling platforms are provided around the lake with access via a circular path around the site. For more information regarding fishing the site, please contact the Ranger Service.

How to find us

Abbey Lakes can be found on the border of Up Holland and Orrell, just off the A577 on School Lane. Access and parking for cars is limited, however public transport is available, just visit the Arriva (external link) or Orrell Train Station (external link) website for more information about localised bus and train routes.
