The gallery has an ongoing programme of educational tours and
practical workshops for schools, which are closely linked to
the exhibition programme.
What's involved?
Our programme of creative educational workshops includes
a the tour of the gallery where pupils are encouraged to
discuss their own ideas about the art on display and become
critically aware of the intentions of the artist.
The second part of the visit involves a fun hands-on practical
session where participants have the chance to create a piece
of artwork inspired by what they have seen and discussed.
All of the sessions are linked to the Art and Design curriculum
Key Stage 1, 2 & 3 and where appropriate cross-curricular links
are made.
