Policy on publication of the list of clubs and
organisations
The Council maintains a list of clubs and
organisations as valuable community information. It is printed each
year in the Citizens’ Guide, and is also listed on the Council
website.
Each year, the Council contacts each of the
organisations listed to ask them if they wish to be included in the
following year’s guide. They are asked to update the information
supplied and to give permission for it to be published on the
website and in the Citizens’ Guide.
Organisations applying for inclusion should be
not-for-profit organisations e.g. community groups, voluntary
organisations, statutory organisations, charities. Entries should
not promote any activities that may be unlawful, e.g. should not be
discriminatory; should be in harmony with legal requirements with
regard to health and safety, and equal opportunities.
All requests for listing – whether
renewals/updates of previous listings or new requests – will be
considered by the Public Relations and Consultation Manager. If any
issues arise e.g. as to the inclusion of a particular organisation,
the matter will be referred to the Assistant Chief Executive for
determination, having regard to any representations made.
Subject to the above, the Council reserves the
right to refuse requests for inclusion in the list, and to edit
entries.
