Rangers: environmental education
Through the "Natural Learning" theme the Rangers
provide a service to people of all ages and abilities who wish to
learn about their environment.
A Natural Learning pack for primary and lower secondary schools has
been produced to give ideas for studies in the countryside. Topics
include wildflowers, minibeasts, landscapes, and environmental art,
and give examples of nature trails around our countryside sites
where these topics can be studied.
The Rangers are also available lead guided walks and outdoor
lessons on a wide variety of topics. Please contact them to discuss
your requirements.
There are also opportunities for older children to carry out work
experience through their school or linked to other initiatives like
the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.
College students can partake in placement programmes as part of
their courses. Adult learning is also available at varying levels,
including NVQ level training, and other training qualifications for
the less academic.
