The information below should help in the event of an emergency. In emergencies call 999 for Police, Fire or Ambulance.

Police
If you need to contact the Police Service in an emergency call 999. For non-emergencies call 0845 1253545. If you have any information relating to a crime, anywhere in the UK, call Crimestoppers on freephone 0800 555 111.

Fire and Rescue Service
If you need to contact the Fire and Rescue Service in an emergency call 999. To contact Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service call 01772 862545. For fire safety advice - including home fire safety checks, fire alarm installation including specialist alarms for people with hearing difficulties - call freephone 0800 1691125.

  • Skelmersdale: 01695 723853. Open: 24 hours a day
  • Tarleton: 01772 812251. Open: at specific times only

Medical emergencies
If you need medical assistance in an emergency, call 999. For 24 hour nurse advice and health information call NHS Direct on 0845 4647.
