Severe weather
We can't prevent severe weather, but we can often predict it. The Met Office issue Severe Weather Warnings (external link) when a forecast has been made for weather conditions - like high winds, intense or prolonged rainfall and heavy snow - which may cause considerable disruption to traffic conditions or damage property.
