Monday to Thursday 8:00am to 4.15pm & Friday 8:00am to 1pm (with breaks and lunch)

Salary  £18,870 - £20,541 per annum Disclosure N/A

We have an exciting opportunity for three Grounds Maintenance Operatives within the Grounds Maintenance service, based at the Robert Hodge Centre in Skelmersdale. These are fixed term positions until 26th October 2018.

As a Grounds Maintenance Operative you will carry out a range of general amenity horticultural operations including duties such as, grass mowing, hedge trimming, pruning, weeding, annual bedding maintenance, leaf and litter clearance duties etc., in accordance with service standards, and to undertake maintenance work in respect of Council owned cemeteries including grave digging.

You will drive and operate a range of fleet vehicles including vans, tipper vans, towing trailers, tractors, tractor operated machinery and ride-on mowers in accordance with the manufacturers’ instructions and within appropriate licence restrictions and undertake vehicle checks and complete all associated records/forms

You will hold minimum qualifications of GCSE English and Maths, Grade C or above (or equivalent under the new qualification framework – experience of working within a similar job may also satisfy this requirement). You will also be required to support and participate in training and development activities as required within the role.
