We are looking to appoint an experienced Fleet Services Manager who will hold the Operator's Licence for West Lancashire Borough Council. Whilst acting as the primary contact with fleet road transport regulatory body, you will be responsible for ensuring all terms and conditions of the licence are met according to relevant legislation.
As Fleet Services Manager you will play a key role in keeping our front line services operational. You will be will be responsible for all fleet vehicles across the organisation ensuring that they are safe and fit for purpose, and be responsible for the management of the operating centre, servicing, maintenance and repair of fleet, through contractual obligations or in-house service.
You will act as the primary contact with the Council's external transport and maintenance provider, ensuring that all terms and conditions of the contract and service level agreements are achieved. You will be responsible for liaising with service managers and supervisors, to ensure drivers are adequately trained and competent, in accordance with legislation and best practice.
The successful candidate will have significant experience of working within a similar role. You will have proven experience of budget and contract management, and experience of the procurement and operation of a wide range of vehicles. You will have excellent negotiation and analytical skills, be able to develop creative and innovative service solutions, and positively influence the behaviour of others.
