The Council is ambitious for West Lancashire and its priorities are the local economy, the environment across the Borough and the Health and Wellbeing of its local communities. A vacancy exists for an Auditor in our small internal audit team evaluating the effectiveness of the Council’s risk management, governance and control arrangements in accomplishing its objectives.

The Service reviews the implementation of legislation, policy, Financial Regulations and Contract Procedure Rules but you will need to demonstrate a creative and innovative approach as the role will involve complex assignments with an emphasis on adding value by promoting good governance and continual service improvement in the areas under review.    You will have excellent communication skills as well as internal audit experience and hold a relevant qualification e.g. AAT, IIA, CIPFA Diploma.
