A great opportunity has arisen to join a small friendly team providing professional support to the Council's decision-making processes and Local Councillors, in a varied and interesting role.

We are seeking a highly motivated and professional person with strong inter-personal skills to support the Council's decision-making and governance arrangements, working with Members and senior officers and focusing primarily on the Council's Overview and Scrutiny function.

Your role will be to assist in ensuring that the Council operates efficiently, effectively and lawfully as a democratic body, including providing relevant professional support to meetings, ensuring effective decision-making, assisting in maintaining the Council's Constitution and handling and developing democratic and civic processes.  You will provide accurate and timely procedural and constitutional guidance to Councillors, officers, the public and partners.  With a solid background in the decision-making, administrative and governance processes of local authorities or a similar role, you will also have the ability to work to tight deadlines and possess excellent communication and IT skills.
