Digmoor Parade has Wings

Christmas has arrived early at Digmoor Parade in Skelmersdale with the installation of a spectacular pair of Wishing Wings.

Visitors can take a flight of fancy by creating their own stunning selfies just by standing in front of them.

These remarkable artworks have been created by artists Sarah Jane Richards and Izzie Major who worked with the local community as part of a consultation process led by our Arts Development Service.

A celebration event is being held on Wednesday 13 December at 3pm until 5pm at Evermoor Hub when visitors can enjoy free festive fun and visit Father Christmas in his Grotto.

Cllr Yvonne Gagen, portfolio holder for Leisure, said: "The Wishing Wings artwork will look fabulous at the parade. I would also encourage everyone who wants to see some improvements around Digmoor Parade to get involved in the consultation process. This will help us develop ideas for further works later in the year."
