Families can enjoy art fun at half term activities at Chapel Gallery
The Chapel Gallery has plenty of free half term fun planned for young children and families to help drive away the winter blues.
You can celebrate Chinese New Year at the Monkey Business workshop on Wednesday 17 February between 10.30am and 12.30pm. This is the year of the monkey in the Chinese calendar and the activity will look at the animals found in the Chinese calendar including, snakes, roosters, sheep plus many more. You can also find out, by looking back at the year you were born, what animal you are.
Then on Friday 19 February, The World Around the Ocean Floor workshop will have people thinking about what kind of creatures they can find in the sea. They can talk about characters from the Little Mermaid and create some of their own.
Both sessions will be facilitated by artist Jane Coyle and are for families to attend with young children aged eight years old and below.
The workshops are free but places need to be booked in advance, so please call the Chapel Gallery on 01695 585011 or email email@example.com.
There are more fun activities in the main gallery space as part of our current exhibition, The Association of Illustrators, World Illustration Awards 2016. They are free to take part in and are available during Gallery opening times. These activities will continue till Saturday 20 February when the exhibition closes.
Councillor Yvonne Gagen, Portfolio Holder for Leisure, said: “The Chapel Gallery half term activities are always great fun for children so parents should make sure they book places as quickly as possible.”
