Councillor Ian Moran, Leader of West Lancashire Borough Council and portfolio holder for Economic Regeneration, said: “A key Council priority is to be ambitious for our economy by growing jobs and encouraging business and wealth. I would urge local firms to sign up and become ambassadors for our town to help make the local economy even stronger, which will benefit everyone living and working here.”
Skelmersdale Ambassadors act as powerful advocates to influence, attract investment and encourage business growth. Ambassadors will be the first to know about exciting opportunities and developments in the local economy such as Lancashire Local Enterprise Partnership strategies, or funding opportunities. They will have access to the Skelmersdale storybook, artwork, images and many other marketing materials to help them promote their business and Skelmersdale, as well as increasing their network of contacts.
Shaun McClarnon, Managing Director at Brownlow Utilities Ltd in Skelmersdale, said: “Having attended the Skelmersdale Ambassadors launch event in November 2016 it was great for us to make new connections with local businesses who are positive about the town and its future prospects. I’m looking forward to acting as an Ambassador for Skelmersdale, networking with other businesses and attending forthcoming events.”
